As I haven't personally been to many events this year, remember to bring your event photos on CD, DVD or USB stick along to this weeks meeting. I'd like to have an emphasis on members enjoying their cars, if you have photos of people driving, looking at cars and generally enjoying the event then send them in to me! Thanks, Ben. |

John Ousey, who was an engineer for Volvo and will give us an insight into the word of Volvo. He was the Engineer in charge of Volvo Australia's production line in Clayton when they decided to build the cars from CKD (Completely Knocked Down). Chinese automaker Geely is not a suitable owner of Volvo Cars, according to eight former Volvo directors. In a letter to Ford Motor Company’s chairman, Bill Ford Jr, former Volvo group directors, and former Volvo Cars managing directors, wrote that Geely lacks the necessary technical competence, according to the newspaper Dagens Industri. |

Will this be the end of volvo? Sourced from the Guardian UK. US car giant Ford today confirmed that it is selling Volvo to the Chinese and that the deal, thought to be worth around $2bn (£1.25bn), should be signed early next year. In a statement today the US automaker said that "all substantive commercial terms" relating to the sale of the loss-making Swedish firm have now been settled with with the buyer, Zhejiang Geely. |
