Swan Hill Weekend, SA - March 2012 |
|
On the March long weekend, the South Australian club organised a get-together in Swan Hill for club members. Thank you David Bennett and the SA crew for pulling it all together, including the weekend activities and meals - well done! It was great to see our old friends and make new ones, with most activities occurring around the Big 4 Riverside caravan park, where the majority were staying. In all, there were 7 cars from SA and 7 from Victoria, with probably 30 people (give or take) up for the weekend.

RACV Classic, Flemington, Melbourne - April 2012 |
|
We had another great show day with almost a record breaking number of cars showing up for the club display. Of the 45-50 odd cars we had a range of vehicles ranging from almost the whole Volvo timeline, starting with the popular classics like the P1800 and 122's through to the current release S60 Polestar with everything between. We even had a Volvo/Daf 44 which was awesome in its high visibility paintwork and graphics.
A big thank you from the Committee to all those that took the time to turn up and display their cars. As always we'd love to get your feedback on the event and feel free to send in your photos!

National Rally 2013, Corowa NSW |
Volvo Car Clubs of Australia National Rally, May 3-5, 2013
The committee of the Volvo Club of Victoria would like to invite all VCCA members to join us in Corowa on the banks of the mighty Murray River for the 2013 National Rally.
Held in May 2013, the National Rally is the perfect event to discover the beauty of the area bordering Victoria and New South Wales while celebrating our shared love of Volvo Cars both new and old.
Stay in the area with plenty of accommodation and sightseeing options or venture further afield to Beechworth with its famous bakery, Bright and its beautiful autumn leaves or into the Alpine region renowned for its beautiful scenery.
Highlights of the weekend would include:
• A visit to a private car museum – a must on any rally • A lunch cruise on Lake Mulwala from Yarrawonga • A visit to one of the many first class wineries in the Rutherglen area • A chance to sample the delights of the chocolate factory and whiskey distillery housed in the historic Corowa Flour Mill building • A visit to the “Birthplace of Federation” museum • The opportunity for a quick game of golf on one of the three championship courses in the area • Event car display in the beautiful Corowa RSL Park • Event presentation dinner in a private dining area
